“Major”
Nutt, Famous Midget Dead.
BOSTON, Sept. 22—Rodina Nutt, last male survivor of the late P.T.
Barnum’s famous midget troupe, who as a member of that
dwarf
combination became known all over this country and in England, died
at
his home in Dorchester today at the age of 69 years. Up to his death
and since retiring nineteen years ago, “Major” Nutt, as
he was known,
had conducted a successful real estate business. He was a brother of
“Commodore” Nutt, with whom he traveled
under the auspices of Barnum,
and who died in 1881.
